After walking down Bergen Street at least twice a day for over two years, I got sick of seeing the ever increasing number of feral cats on the block. Even worse, were the kittens scampering across the two lane street, dodging cars and buses. I had already rescued and adopted four kittens from this block in Brooklyn, but there kept being more. This past October I took a
Trap-Neuter-Return
workshop through the Brooklyn organization
Slope Street Cats. Through the organization, I met the most generous group of people you could ever wish to find and they agreed to help me sterilize the feral cat colony on Bergen Street. This is my diary of what it takes to take control of an unwanted cat population.
